How To Support Small Businesses During A Pandemic

In This Article:

Local businesses are what keep our communities afloat. Without these shops and restaurants our towns and cities wouldn't be what they are. Even though we are mainly stuck inside there are plenty of ways to keep shopping locally and suporting the businesses that make the places we live special.

1. Buy From Them!

Many businesses are still open during this time and are continuing to open back up and are ready for your business. The best way to support your local community is to buy directly from them. Whether it's getting take out from your favorite restaurant, grabbing some coffee from that cute little coffee shop around the corner, or using curbside pickup to treat yourself to some new, handmade clothing. Make sure you check online to see which of your local businesses are open and how you can shop with them during this time.

2. Share, Share, Share!

Maybe you don't have all the money in the world to spend on eating out at all of your favorite places in your town. I totally get it and there are plenty of other ways to help out the businesses in your community! One is sharing, commenting, and liking their social media posts! This might not seem like a big deal, but in the long run it really is, especially in the digital world we live in. The more you share their posts the more their businesses is spread across social media allowing others to either see this business for the first time or be reminded that they exist!

3. Tell Your Friends!

This one goes a bit hand-in-hand with number two, but a great way to help support some of your favorite local businesses is to tell your friends and family about them! If they are looking for something new to try this is the perfect time to suggest to them your favorite local restaurant or shop. Give your testimony about why you love them so much and why your friend just has to try it!

4. Buy Gift Cards

This is a way that you can buy directly from the restaurants/shops while also giving to your friends and family. Any birthdays, holidays, or parties coming up? Treat the people you love with a gift card that will truly get them something unique and wonderful.

5. Leave Some Positivity

Leave a positive review for your favorite local places. Whether it's on their social media pages or on a platform like Yelp, leaving a good review will allow others to see how great the place is and inspire to buy from them!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
