How To Style A Cape Sweater

I read a quote the other day and it went a little something like this…“I’m so sick of fall.”- said no person, ever. And boy did that quote hit the nail on the head. There are so many things we look forward to in fall and most of those things involve words like cozy, anything involving black legging outfits and sweaters and by the fireall of which induce warm fuzzies and fond memories. I don’t think we’re quite ready for snow (sorry Boston) but we are certainly ready to embrace cooler temps in San Diego (it will be 81 tomorrow…not. kidding. you.) When cozying up for a fall day, there’s nothing I love more than a cape sweater.

Whether or not the weather will agree with my fall closet, I feel it’s about time to embrace the coziness of sweaters and black legging outfits like no other. And this black legging outfits is one of my favorites among many. There’s nothing easier than throwing on a cozy cape sweater outfit, like this one, paired with cotton or knit leggings, ankle boots, and tackling that fall day. Even if it is just to grab a latte…

Today, I’m also featuring one of my new favorite go-to bag brands, Leah Lerner. Remember on Instagram when I featured my new grey leather clutch? Well, here it is again back in action. Paired with my neutral cape sweater outfit, it’s an easy winner for a bag that’s perfectly sized to bring with me when I’m out and about.

Leah Lerner bags are all beautifully handmade leather totes, clutches, and pouches that are perfect for the everyday. The ETSY shop is packed full of fabulous bags and I want to get my hands on them all. I love the way this clutch works with black legging outfits so perfectly.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
