Keeping up with tasks during quarantine is tough. You are probably stuck in the house and confined to your room.

The most important thing that will keep you on task is your environment. If you are sitting in bed and doing your homework, you probably are not going to get much work done. Refraining from your bed and sitting in your uncomfortable desk chair, will make you get your work done and also pushes you to get your work done faster.

So besides the environment being a big factor, here are some other things that will help you stay productive during this quarantine:

Keep a routine.

Don't wake up and do all your work in your pajamas. Actually dress up. It sounds like a lot of work, but it will pay off. It will feel normal to dress up like you are getting ready to go to work or school. It will help you stay focused. Plus, wearing jeans and uncomfortable clothes might actually help you get work done more efficiently.

Eat breakfast.

According to Market Watch, 31 million US consumers skip breakfast! Breakfast is the most fulfilling meal of the day. Skipping breakfast could put you in a grumpy mood, keep you tired, and also it just won't feel like you started your day. So please, do yourself a favor this quarantine and eat breakfast. Honestly, with all the free time that you do have, it doesn't hurt to make yourself a nice fancy breakfast.

Keep to your to-do lists.

Making to-do lists is easy but actually following through with your to-do lists is what's hard. Hold yourself accountable if you don't stick to your list.

Give yourself breaks.

Giving yourself little rewards can go a long way. Maybe after you do an hour of work give yourself a 30-minute break. This way, your brain will rejuvenate and you will be excited to keep completing tasks for the reward that you'll have in the end.

Changing your surroundings.

Maybe rearrange your room, or if you can't do that, go out into your backyard and do work there. It will help you come out of the cave that you've been stuck in for the past two months.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
