To splurge:

1. Undies

I mean who doesn't love a good pair of Victoria's Secret undies? Especially when they're seven for $27 and it’s a seasonal underwear sale? New 'undies' is basically setting yourself up for world domination.

2. Froyo

Honestly, it’s trendy and cute and better for you than ice cream, but it taste like ice cream. Also it can be served as a meal?

3. Mascara

No feeling in the world compares dipping a flawless clumpy-free mascara brush into black magic that makes your eyes stand out so boys fall in love with you batting your long lashes.

4. Manicures

“Any woman can wear a great outfit but it’s her nails that make the statement.” - Tammy Taylor. Enough said.

5. Jeans

That really adorable pair of jeans that you slip on and envision yourself in every top you own running through a meadow in slow motion with music playing in the background, yep... that's the pair for you. Buy them! It won’t be just yourself who thanks you later, it’ll be everyone behind you too.

6. Concert Tickets

Concerts are interactive and can be easily turned into a full day commitment. And you know what they say, "People who spend money on experiences report to be happier versus people who spend money on objects."

Not To Splurge:

1. Food

Seriously, there's food at home. Also that’s what boys are for, buying you food... duh!

2. Movie Tickets

Who wants to pay $10 to sit in a dark room for two hours and watch a movie that everyone knows will come out in a few more weeks for a dollar? Or even better, on Netflix, which means you don’t have to leave your bed!

3. Salon Hair Products

Okay, really? Ever heard of Pinterest homemade hair-masks and dry shampoo? Good, because same here.

4. That Million Dollar Bikini that you just have to have

That bikini is going to get wet anyway! And you’re young- you’ll look good in anything.

5. Lip Products

Lipstick is lipstick is lipstick is lipstick. There are so many drugstore look-a-likes to all of the expensive designer ones. Do not spend $30. *Unless it is Kylie’s Lip Kit, that stuff is holy.*

6. Sunglasses

Why drop hundreds on pricey sunglasses when we all know that you’re probably going to drop them or lose them or worse: change your mind. $20 and under sale glasses from Nordstrom Rack will soon turn into your High School sweet-heart.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
