Every college girl looks forward to game days for one main reason, and that is the outfit that they get to wear! Game day outfits are something that Ohio State women take very seriously. We like to show off our school spirit in the most unique, fashionable way possible. Seeing other students and fans dressed up in their creative attire creates such an exhilarating game day experience. There’s nothing better than rummaging through your best friends closet and borrowing the new Ohio State VS Pink tank that you’ve been wanting to complete your look! It is so easy to see everyone’s outfits and piece different parts of them together to create your own perfect game day outfit.

Fanny Packs & Canvas Shoes in School Colors

When the warm weather is still around at the start of the football season, there are numerous must-have accessories that every girl must possess! One of the main items is the fanny pack. From personal experience, I found that carrying around a fanny-pack is not only fashionable, but also a very convenient way to carry around all of your vital game day necessities.

An even bigger trend for game day apparel is the school colored canvas shoe! They complete every outfit by expressing school spirit and a high sense of fashion at the same time.

Leggings

What would a girl do without her favorite pair of leggings? Bless the person that decided these comfy things could be pants because how else is a girl to survive a long day of tailgating?

Game Day Makeup

Game day makeup is always an essential as well. Incorporating fun makeup is always a great way to express your style and make your outfit stand out even more! Personally, I always like to wear bright red lipstick and use Ohio State face stickers. Along with makeup, another fun way to show off your best game day style is to craft your own shirt!

Sporty Wear

At the beginning of the season I love wearing cute tanks and shorts that sport my O-H-I-O pride while keeping me cool and comfy.

When the weather starts to cool off, that is when the Ohio State jerseys start to come out! For me, personally, this is my favorite attire to wear! I love putting on a fun pair of leggings, throwing on my football jersey, and then dressing it up with some cute fur!

Sunnies, Shades, Sunglasses

These bad boys are always your friend. Whether it is the first game in August or an unusually bright day in November, always pack a pair of shades to keep you from squinting in photos and add an extra accessory to your ensemble!

Hats

Incorporating the winter hats is another fun way to express gameday style. My favorite hats are the ones that have the little ball tops and braided strings down the side. Speaking of winter, being that Ohio State’s colors are scarlet and gray, it’s very easy to show off the holiday spirit and your school pride in the same outfit for games during the holiday months. These fun reindeer leggings, pictured below, possess all of the colors that make up Ohio State game day outfits.

Final Touches… Accessories & Flair

Accessories really complete a game day outfit - no matter the weather. Some of my favorite accessories to complete my loom are fun sunglasses, hair bows, midi rings, earrings, chokers, and any other Ohio State favorite staples.

One of my ultimate favorite accessories to add (especially in the fall/winter) are the very popular VS PINK high top Ohio State socks. Most girls at OSU own at least one pair of these socks. They add color and style to any outfit! Wear them over leggings as an easy way to add school spirit and color.

Remember to choose the items and trends that make an outfit that will highlight your personal style. I always like to add a little bit of seasonal flavor into my game day outfits to show off my fun personality! The fun part is that it’s all up to you. Which tips will you try?

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
