There are tons of apps and websites that you can use to sell your old clothes. Two apps that I have been using for the past six months are Poshmark and Mercari. I decided to start selling my old clothes after my freshman year of college. Coming home and trying to stuff all my clothes back into my drawers was a nightmare. Once I accepted the fact that I needed to get rid of some I downloaded these two apps.

After staying up until 3 in the morning taking pictures of my clothes I realized that making a sale isn't as easy as I thought. There are tons of other people trying to sell their clothes as well, so how do I stand out from the rest? After a few days of reading everything I could find about how to be successful on these apps I finally made my first sale. Here are some tips that I have come up with.

First of all, you have to have awesome pictures to make people click on your listing. I usually have a blanket with a cute pattern on it as my background. Also, make sure that the background makes the colors in the item pop. For example, have neutral colors in the background if your item is brighter. I do this so the background doesn't take away from the item I am trying to sell.

Next, make sure that the room that you are in is illuminated enough to capture all the details in your item. This is kind of tricky, especially at night. I usually take multiple pictures and then pick which ones look the best at the end. Also, upload pictures of the front/back and close ups. A lot of people even upload pictures of them modeling the clothes to give people a better idea of how it fits.

In addition to the pictures you must also describe your item. This is your time to really show off your clothes. Mention everything! Include the brand of whatever you're selling so your item comes up when it is searched. Be sure to mention how the item fits(if its tight, loose, etc).

Another important aspect of selling your clothes online is honesty. This is the part that will inspire people to buy from you again. What I mean by honesty is disclosing any defects or flaws that your items may have. For example, if there is a small stain or rip be sure to mention that. No matter how minuscule make sure that you mention it so your customers are happy, this will lead to them giving you an awesome review.

Pricing your items is another difficult thing to do at first. First, think about the price that you would buy the item for. People go on these apps to save money since the clothes are often used. If you have no idea how to price your listing look to see what others are selling the same(or a similar) item for. Also it would be a good idea to price something a dollar or two higher than what you want to make since people often make offers.

Lastly, make sure to share your items daily. This makes sure that your listings get the exposure that they deserve. When you share your items it brings it to the top of the list when a brand or item is searched. This increases the likeliness that you will make a sale!

I hope this article helped you if you are looking for advice on how to make your first sale. There are tons of apps and websites out there other than the two I previously mentioned. Good luck everyone!

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
