To all my makeup-obsessed friends: this week's article is for you.
A couple months ago I discovered the magical place that is Nordstrom Rack. Now, I knew that Nordstrom sold things like expensive purses and jewelry, but I was shocked when I saw they sold high end makeup...and at a discounted price!
Now, before we continue with the story, I need to tell you some background information.
About a week before I walked into Nordstrom Rack, I had just run out of eye primer. (RIP my urban decay primer potion) So naturally, I took a trip to Ulta in search of a new one. I decided to try something different and coughed up $20 to buy the Too Faced Shadow Insurance eye primer. I took it home and used it happily.
Now, fast forward to a week later when I'm at Nordstrom Rack. I'm shocked to find this high end makeup and I'm scoping everything up and picking out what I want to buy when I come across the SAME Too Faced Shadow Insurance eye primer and....wait for it...for only NINE DOLLARS. Hello that is like $11 less than what I paid for at Ulta!? I went through many emotions at this time..mostly due the fact that I could've saved $11 if I had come to Nordstrom Rack a week earlier. (I could've gotten an eye primer AND a meal from panera for the same price as one eye primer at Ulta?) And trust me I checked about a hundred times- the packaging was exactly the same and the quantity was exactly the same. So I learned my lesson, but now I want to help you. Ladies, do NOT buy makeup from Ulta or Sephora before checking your local Nordstrom Rack. You could end up saving a TON of money in the long run and still get the same quality makeup. I for one, head out to Nordstrom Rack at least once a month to check out their makeup and what they have (they are always changing what's in stock). So, I encourage you to take this into consideration and always pause and check Nordstrom Rack before purchasing that palette that you've been eyeing up.
(and in case you think this is just too good to be true... I've included proof below)
