I see all of my girls are into that dark brown or even black lip lately, and let me tell you I am obsessed with it! The dark color really stands out and even makes your lips look fuller. I know I wear it out all of the time, but a lot of girls shy away from the bold lip because they're afraid it won't look right. Today, I am going to give you some awesome tips and tricks that really helped me rock my dark lips.

First things first, exfoliate and moisturize your lips. Lipsticks can cause your lips to become dry or even cracked. To stop that from happening, use a lip scrub (I really like the bubblegum one from Lush ) and a chapstick after. Finish the rest of your face before putting on the liquid lip, and wipe the area with a paper towel prior to application.

Next, apply a lip liner around the outer parts of your lips. You can even over line at the tips of your cupids bow and the bottom of your lower lip. This adds an extra fullness to the lip, and it makes them look even more kissable. Also, if you're afraid of your liquid lip being patchy, make sure to fill in your entire lip.

During the application of the liquid lip, I find that it is easiest to smile with my lips over my teeth. I look silly in the mirror, but it flattens my mouth enough to spread the product on evenly. Putting my lips over my teeth gives me something to press back on too.

After my lipstick is on and looking darker than ever, I take a concealer on a small flat brush, and I use it to clean up around the edges. This gives a nice crisp look to the lip. I also take the same concealer and put it in the middle of my lips and blend out to give me a little bit more of an ombre look. This keeps my lips from looking flat. With so much darkness in the same area, I sometimes find my lips looking smaller than they actually are. Just a little bit of light in the middle plumps my lips back up, and it makes them look really soft.

I want to suggest the Jefree Star Liquid Lip, the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lip, and even the NYX Liquid Lingerie brands. These are my absolute favorite brands to use, and they always leave me looking perfectly plump.

I hope these tips help you as they have helped me.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.
