So this is a little odd for me to be writing because I'm not a huge Birks fan. But I am in the process of finding the perfect Birkenstocks for my feet. And at the price point that I am willing to spend for a pair of sandals.
Last summer I gave in and bought a pair of Chacos for the first time. I remember exactly how much they cost with tax because I couldn't believe it. These suckers cost me 119 dollars. I was in sticker shock and I resisted to wear them for awhile because I felt so bad. But everybody had them, and I just wanted to fit in. So after wearing these wonderful pieces of rubber with straps for about a week, I couldn't believe that I ever went without them. And I have a feeling I'm gonna think the same thing about my future Birkenstocks.
So to start out, you've gotta decide if you want a toe loop or no toe loop. This was a hard decision for me because I love a good toe strap, but I want to wear my Birks all year around with my socks. So what ultimately brought me to my final decision was asking myself, "what is everyone else wearing?" I know what you're thinking. Be your own person Holly. Wear what you want. But if everyone else is wearing the Birks with toe loops, then they surely MUST be comfortable right?
So then your next step is, what color do I want? There are only three colors of Birks with the toe loop. There is black, mocca, and stone. I already knew I didn't like the stone color, so I was in between black and mocca. But what ultimately did it for me was that I could wear the brown with a lot more and not have to worry about my feet looking pale. They would look tan all of the time with my brown sandals on.
So your very last step before ordering is finding the best deal. I looked on the Birkenstocks.com website, and I also looked at Amazon. But then I ultimately got a hot tip from a friend who had purchased her Birkenstocks to look on eBay. Usually, I steer far away from eBay, but I decided to give it a go.
And that is the best decision I've made in awhile. I found Birkenstocks 20 dollars cheaper than the retail price (THIS IS A HUGE DEAL FOR BIRKS!) So throughout the past few weeks I have been watching eBay waiting for the perfect pair to come along. And I think I found it! I hope you like your Birks and I hope this quick little article laid it all out for any prospective Birkenstocks buyers!
