As summer comes to an end, you must mentally and physically prepare yourself to leave your comfortable bed, loving parents and hometown where you grew up and go back to college. Not that college is bad...it just isn't home. With that said, here are some tips on how to mentally and physically prepare yourself to be back at college.

1. Say goodbye to the comfort of spending your parents money.

Please, help me fund my drinking, food and clothing problem! I'm poor!

2. Get your brain ready for the large amount of work and little time you have to do it.

This is self explanatory, sometimes you have zero work to do, and then all of sudden you have five papers, three tests 20 homework assignments and like five minutes to complete it all.

3. Put your liver into overdrive.

You most likely drink more at college than when you're at your parents home... So it's time to mentally and physically prepare for that...

4. Prepare to get annoyed at everything your friends and roommates do.

Living or being with someone 24/7 can get annoying really fast. Remember to be nice and try not to get annoyed that easily.

5. Gain that weight back you thought you lost over summer break.

Alas, the gym and those salads you ate during summer have been gained back quickly. When you start going back to Tequila Tuesdays and munching on Domino's Pizza at 3 a.m. What do you expect?

6. Your sleep schedule is messed up.

Some days you get to sleep like until 3 p.m., and other days you go from the frat house to your class, you can't win.

7. You have to start focusing on your real world life again.

This is the hardest to accept... During the summer, you can sort of forget about all of your "life" worries. But once classes and internships start, you're back in the real world my friend.

8. You have to look good like 70 percent of the time.

The other 30 percent you can look like crap (specifically used for when you're extremely hungover or have an 8 a.m.). But you have to look good! What if you run into your future husband on campus?

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
