Ergonomics help to avoid unwanted injuries from awkward postures. An Ergonomic bed will
- 1.maintain your natural spinal curvatures,
- 2.improve the deep sleeping time,
- 3.Spread the force evenly on your back to reduce muscle spasm.
- 4.Improve circulation.
- 5.Reduce the incidence of neck and back pain.
The best way to sleep is on your right in side lying with right palm supporting your cheeks. Can use an additional pillow between legs.
Pillow
size matters - If you lie on your side, it should fill the gap between the outside of your upper arm and the side of your face keeping the neck in a neutral position. It should be a neutral alignment. Over height causes neck to angle upward and low height causes neck angle to go downwards
Choose a pillow which increases the facial air circulation.
Fillings – Down and feathers, synthetic/ polyester fillings
Replace every two years.
Mattress
Go for a medium sized mattress, not too soft/ firm.
Because the firm mattress can exert a counterforce against your spine. Memory foam will be a good choice.
Of course, go for a flat one.
