How to Make the Best Out of a Summer Affected by COVID-19

There is no doubt that the Coronavirus Pandemic has affected us all, in many various ways, shapes and forms. Not only have we spent a great deal more time stuck in our houses, some more than others, but a lot of the activities and events we used to look forward to, especially during the summer, have either been cancelled or completely modified. Here are some helpful tips to ensure that despite COVID-19's presence, we can still have an enjoyable summer.

Find a Worthwhile Indoor Hobby

There are many options as to things that we can do indoors, but for this specific topic I am speaking of something that comes with benefits. For me, it would be writing, because I am talented at it and I can profit from it. For others, this may be creating things and selling them, taking online surveys or perhaps even cleaning. Anything that passes the time, keeps you in good spirits and comes with rewards as well.

Get Some Tan Lines!

If you are like me, you have become pretty accustomed to being pasty year-round. This year is our time to shine--and not because we're glowing from our pale skin! Simply stepping outside can be a huge breath of fresh air and we can find enjoyment in basking in the sun's rays. Not only can you remain safe from others and the virus by staying home, but by being outside you will not be in close quarters with anyone.

Make the Best Out of What You Can Do!

Like I stated before, some things that we are used to doing may have been cancelled due to the virus, but many of these same things will be happening, just in a modified manner. For example, if you usually go to a music festival that is jam packed with tons of sweaty concert goers, enjoy the fact that it may be limited to less people. Buy your tickets ahead of time and wear your mask! If there is not anything you can do to change it, make the best out of it!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
