We all have times in our lives when our priorities aren’t really on socializing. Whether it's a new job, a huge project you have due, or something else entirely. No matter how busy you get, keeping in touch with friends can be something simple, such as initiating a conversation every once in awhile, just to let them know you care about them.
I'm the queen of never having enough time and it makes me feel like a pretty bad friend sometimes. But no matter how busy I am, I genuinely care a lot about my friends. Which got me thinking of ways I can make time for them. Hopefully they're helpful for you too!
1. Work Out Together
Having a regular weekly time scheduled to exercise and spend time together will make it easy to hang out often. If there isn't a specific day every week you can go to a class, or just the gym in general, then make plans to go for a walk (and have a good gossip while you do)!
2. Help Each Other Out
Doing chores like laundry and dishes may not be seem like the most pleasant thing to do, but a good friend is always willing to help. If you need a hand cleaning out your wardrobe, tidying up your room, or painting a room, then the deal can be sweetened with the promise of a delicious lunch break together!
3. Girls/Guys Night in
If leaving the house and spending money that you really don’t have isn’t ideal, try a night in instead! Get your friends to bring drinks, order in some food, and it makes for the best night! You even get to wear your pajamas!
4. Ditch Your Phone
We rely way too much on our phones to keep up with friends via social media or text. But this isn't exactly providing you or your friends the quality time you deserve. Put down the phone and meet face to face. *Side note: When hanging out with friends, make it a point to NOT be on your phone. It will always be there, your friends won't.*
5. Study Together
Being in college and always having to get homework done can make it really hard to have a social life. Studying with friends in a group setting or one on one is a great way for you to get your work done and catch up with friends!
