So we are all just getting back from break, and I'm sure you all have one thing on your minds...the next break. But wait, spring break costs money. When you're in college it is easy to be broke. By that I mean it is easy to go to the ATM to get $20 and realize you have $0. Oh. Awesome.
My point is simply that as college students, we seem to lose track of our money, so the natural solution is to make more money.
"How do I do this?" you ask? Here are some options:
1. Get a part time job -- this might be the most obvious solution, but in college it can be difficult to put aside hours to work. However, if you don't have a car, it might be challenging to get there. Just something to keep in mind!
2. Online surveys -- there are websites that you can answer surveys in exchange for money. That sounds great I know, but the amount of surveys you have to answer to even make a dollar... Is a lot so ... Your choice.
4. Sell stuff -- obviously you never have room for your junk in your dorm, so why not sell it? I'm not talking about trash, but if you have old books or an old purse, etc. sell that ish! eBAY is your friend. If you live off campus, another option is to have a garage/yard sale.
5. Marry rich. -- I mean, as long as your future husband is doing well on his exams, you're set, right?
Kidding, obviously.
5. Paid Medical Research Studies -- These are a thing, I promise. Remember the episode of "Friends" when Joey signs up for a twin study and hires a guy to play his twin? It's like that. I mean, I would be someone's twin for $2,000.
6. Tutoring -- Well, if you go to work forest, then your classes are probably pretty tough, and tutoring is a frequent resource. However, if you are particularly good in a subject, then you could try teaching it to someone else and getting paid at the same time.
7. Babysitting or pet sitting -- Disclaimer: must like children and/or pets. If you are still reading after the disclaimer, then this could be the job for you! You can always find families that need babysitters and/or pet-sitters.
8. Write a blog or write for a website -- If you enjoy journalism, this is a great way to earn money. If your blog is successful, you can get advertisers and they will pay you money.
9. Similarly, YouTube can be another source of income -- look at Jenna Marbles; many YouTube stars are paid money to make videos with advertisements.
10. On-campus jobs -- Colleges offer jobs from working in the library to working in the gym, coffee shop, or even a call center. There are many jobs; you just have to find the resources to help you attain one.
11. Finally, the easiest way to make money is to put away loose change -- seriously, pick up stray dollars you find in your bags and dorm room, and put them in a jar or something. This will prevent you from spending that money and when you find it on a rainy day, you will have just made some more money you had forgotten about!
