Straight, curly, wavy, frizzy, long, short-there are so many different hair types. And while some feel comfortable in the hair they've been dealt, others, like me, have trouble styling, maintaining, or even just coming to terms with their hair. I've been there and I'm still learning to come to terms with my own curly hair. So, no matter your type, here are some ways you can love your hair more
1. Practice healthy haircare daily.
It should go without saying, but often we're so busy we use just any shampoo or don't set regular times to wash hair, or wash it too much. Set a schedule to wash your hair, because washing it too little or too much isn't good. Buy shampoos and conditioners that are chemical/paraben-free to keep your hair healthy and strong. Try hair masks. Brush out your hair daily to prevent knots and dandruff, but use a gentle comb if you are more prone to hair fall or split ends. Want your hair to grow fast? Several stores sell hair gummy vitamins, but make sure you buy them from a safe and reliable place.
2. Accept what you've got
We all have our days when our hair just doesn't feel right. But it's important to remember that your natural hair, whatever the shape, size, or color, is what makes you, YOU. It is beautiful the way it is and it's important to recognize it! It doesn't matter what others think about it because it's on your head, after all; it is what you make of it in the end. So go out there and flaunt what you got, because it is perfect in its own way
3. Dress it up!
Sometimes styling your hair in fun, unique ways can make all the difference, especially when you're trying to find the confidence in it. Search up some new styles, or create some of your own.
Practice cute braids or buns, or use iron curlers/straighteners to create a 'do of your own! Add flower clips, or if you're going to a festival or concert some glitter works too! Make it something you'll like, or something that is time-saving if you're in a hurry.
4. Know before you go
Often at the hairstylists, you find yourself unable to tell the hairdresser exactly what you want, or just allow them to cut a certain length based on what they tell you would "look right" for your hair. Don't do that!
Know what will or won't look right for your hairstyle, how short the cut should be, if there should be layers or bangs or where the part line should fall. And while your hair will grow back, you also don't want to be stuck with something you regret for months or year.
It is important to note that hair changes with temperature, season, humidity and even water pressure. So if you find your mane not acting right just wait it out, adjust the shower head or spray it with some anti-frizz and you'll be all good to face the day whether you're all styled up or au natural.
