Autumn is a special time of year. Often the quickest season to pass yet it's said to be one of the most enjoyable. Fall is different than the other three seasons, not necessarily better, just different. When true fall is here, there are very few things to complain about. Fall creeps in slowly with its chilly air, changing the atmosphere both literally and figuratively. Its changes bring in so much hype and building up of fall but none of it is undeserved. This time of year, I've noticed that we usually all rally behind the same ideals. The special thing about this season is how well it makes us appreciate everything a bit more than usual. We find solace in appreciating the little aspects that compile together creating what we know as autumn. Like a classic chocolate chip cookie, there are basic pieces that make the foundation of the recipe but also ingredients that can be added to make it unique. Here's a peek into my signature recipe for fall time.

1. Start with a big heaping spoonful of APPRECIATION

You can only enjoy something so much if it's not matched with appreciation. Thanksgiving shouldn't be the only time of year that you are grateful for everyone and everything you have.

2. Mix in a few cups of COZY

This is one of the more classic ingredients. You need to mix in more comfort this time of year to balance the chilly winds coming through. I like to add more coziness around me by piling on the blankets at night, cuddling up with all my comfy fall sweaters and always having a pair of fluffy socks to slip on. Between fuzzy blankets, fuzzy socks, and fuzzy sweaters we can all set for fall in comfort and warmth.

3. Incorporate ACTIVITIES

What is more classic than adding in some fall activities to your schedule? You'll need movies, a pumpkin patch, a day for carving, drinking warm apple cider, a Halloween party, and a Thanksgiving feast. For the movies, you'll want to watch some great ones like the Halloween Towns, Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpses Bride, Twitches, and The Adams Family to name a few. You also can't go wrong with splashing in some really scary ones for fun.

4. Sprinkle in some fall FOODS

One of the absolute best parts of fall is all the comfort food, so be sure not to leave this one out. Between Halloween cookies, Thanksgiving dinner, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie anything, and warm soups or stews, autumn gives us some of the best dishes of the year.

5. Pour in a hefty helping of FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Fall time gives us many opportunities to see family and friends. You can go do the fall activities with friends or family, visit family you haven't seen in a while, or even call them if they live far away. Now is the time to show how much people mean to you and spending quality time with them is important. Plan a cozy movie date with your significant other, carve pumpkins with your family, and grab some caramel apple cider with friends to have an equally wonderful fall time.

6. Some optional ADD-INS

Feel free to mix in any extra corn mazes, apple pies with whipped cream, bon fires, visiting haunted house, and don't forget the crunchy leaves.

Autumn creates the perfect platform to have a festive and relaxing time in life. It seems like when fall rolls around we tend to appreciate the little things about this time of year more than normal. We watch the leaves change colors, savor the smell of freshly cooked Thanksgiving dinner, and even how enjoyable just cuddling up on the couch with a movie can be. It's the time of year to fall in love with the little things in life. With this recipe, you can conjure up your own delightful autumnal seasonal things to share. Make it your own or copy exactly but either way, you'll end loving fall time a bit more.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
