With so much negativity in the world these days, it's difficult sometimes to be happy and do things that keep you happy. Here are some suggestions to make your life a little less hectic and a little more positive.

1. Be Organized! Use a Planner!

The first step to living a positive life is to be organized. That may be impossible for some of us, but carrying a planner and writing your daily task can be very beneficial. Using a planner decreases stress and gives you a sense of control over your life. Planners come in various sizes, designs, and styles. Stores like Target, Barnes and Noble, and Anthropologie carry the most stylish planners.

2. Drop Those Toxic Friends

Some of us are used to seeing the better side of people. Even those who treat you badly. Your a caring person if you overlook the bad people do to you and create reasons why a person is the way they are. However, some of us need to learn that we cannot change a person. So it's best to drop these toxic people and move on with our lives because they will not change and will only bring stress and anxiety to our lives. Friends who treat you badly are not worth your time or your friends at all. Don't let their negative vibes bring you down.

3. Sleep More!

Sleep is one of the most important things our body needs to function. It is important to create a sleeping schedule for yourself. Try and create a sleeping schedule for during the week when you have school and work. Eight hours of sleep each night can get you well rested each night.

Sleep does benefits how you function during the day, it determines how you perform well at work or school and even keeps your immune system healthy. Getting enough sleep can prevent breakouts, sickness, and stress. So put down your phone 30 minutes before you head to sleep drink something warm like tea or milk and head to bed. Try it out for a week and see how it works for you.

4. Go on more Adventures

Hiking

Plan a weekend to travel somewhere new. Grab a friend and go on an adventurous hike, or visit an art museum. Summer is right around the corner, make a list of fun places to visit. Road trips are always a great idea even if its only to a new city a couple hours away from home or a visit to the beach. The world is a big place to explore, and you should explore as much as you can. Whether it's a hike or just a road trip to somewhere new, this is a great way to be happy.

5. Spend time with those who care about you most!

Friends are important. Friends and supportive family members can help remind you of your own self-worth and they are there for you whether you need to laugh together or cry together. Even if you have a busy schedule, it's always nice to send a message to the person you care about. A simple "Have a great day" will make a person's day better. Share the same love others give you.

6. Work out.

Exercise is a great way to give you more confidence in how you look. It's also something you can do as a routine to make sure you have a little structure in your life. Whether it's right when you wake up or some time throughout the day, exercising is a great way to focus your energy into something productive.

Getting a gym membership has it perks and has personally helped me. There are so many fun workout classes to take. Such as yoga, pilates, and boxing. Don't have a gym membership? No problem. Take a run around the neighborhood, take your dogs on a walk at a park, or even take a hike. Those are all activities that can be fun and a great way to burn some calories and stay in shape.

7. Water!

Drinking at least eight cups of water a day can wash out all the bad stuff you intake throughout your day. Benefits of drinking a lot of water every day can make your skin clear, clean your body internally and as well fight bacteria and sickness.

8. Eat your Fruits and Veggies

They are beneficial for your health and give you natural energy and sugars for your body. They're full of vitamins and minerals and all sorts of stuff to keep you at your best.

9. Take Care of your Skin

Your skin is the largest organ of your body, so it's important to take care of it. Wearing sunscreen on your face is beneficial to prevent sun spots which could lead to skin cancer. As well as applying the sunscreen to your neck for anti-aging purposes. Using face mask will improve and hydrate your skin. Face masks clean out pores and prevent unwanted blemishes. If you wear makeup, make sure to actively clean your makeup brushes to ensure that products you are wearing are not harming your skin or cause breakouts.

Products like Lush, La Mer, Origins, Glossier, and Fresh are great for all types of skin. Skin care products can be found at Lush, Ulta and Sephora. Various skin serums, lotions and face mask are provided at these stores.

Making sure your skin is clean is a total confidence-booster. It also keeps you healthy by getting rid of germs and other gross stuff that you get just from going through your day. So take the time and love yourself, especially your skin.

10. Listen to Music and Take Time to Relax

Lastly, take time to relax and get away from everything. Do what makes you feel calm and content. Whether that be binge-watching a show on Netflix, reading a book, taking a warm bath or just simply listening to music. There are millions of various artist in the world. Take time to listen to a full album by one your favorite artist/bands. Share your music interest with your friends! Create a playlist and share them with friends and take time to learn what type of music your friends enjoy. Who knows you'll probably end up discovering new artists to appreciate.

It may be hard at first to break bad habits but once you break them you'll wish you broke them a long time ago. Hopefully, these are some simple ways to make small changes in your life.

It's time to put a stop the negativity in your life and change the way you do things in your everyday life. You should be your first priority, and taking care of your mental and psychical health will alleviate all the hardships you face in life to live a more impactful positive life.

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
