In order to live life to the fullest, I believe that one must ALWAYS live in the moment. It is so easy to forget to take a look around you and realize where you are and who you are with. When you think about it, today's society is constantly taking Instagram photos, making Snapchat stories, or texting and going on social media.

When people walk throughout campus or walk anywhere, their head is down, and they aren't even paying attention to the world that surrounds them. This is not how life should be. Every moment should be taken in!

1. Get off of your phone!

I triple dog dare you to walk around campus, or the city, or anywhere without pulling your phone out. Smile at the people you pass! Look around and enjoy where you are!

We are so used to getting on our phones when things are awkward, or when we are too scared to make eye contact with strangers. There's nothing to be afraid of. Most people will smile back, and if they don't, oh well! You will most likely never see them again.

2. Stop trying to impress everyone.

Social media has become a place where people are constantly fishing for likes, comments, or retweets. This, therefore, makes people want to document every single thing that they are doing that will look fun to their friends on social media.

Instead of actually enjoying the fun they are having, they'll be caught up in getting the cutest picture, or the funniest Snapchat story. The fact of the matter is, nobody cares that much about what you are doing every day. The more you stop feeling like you need to impress people, the more fun and carefree your life will be.

3. Every time you think about anything else, stop it.

I get it, we all to live a life full of stress and obstacles sometimes, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't get a break from it. When you are surrounded by people or places that you love, avoid thinking about whatever it is that is stressing you out. Enjoy what you are doing at that moment, or else you'll miss it. Your mind needs some time to rest anyway, so might as well take advantage of that!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
