They say that if your friendship surpasses 7 years, then it is most likely to last a lifetime.
One of the longest friendships I've had is going on 7 years and damn sure hope it lasts a lifetime.
Kelsey and I have been friends ever since my sophomore year of high school. We bonded after our coach paired us together to race in a certain set.
We were both butterfliers.
After that, we may have bonded over the mutual dislike for a certain person.
HOWEVER,
Since that day, we have been inseparable.
We've gone through breakups, fights, endless holidays, birthdays, vacations.
And we've only gotten closer as the years have gone on.
Kelsey went to college in Pennsylvania and she graduated high school the year we met.
We got super close during swim season which means we only had 3 months together before she graduated.
Looking back on it, it feels like we had been friends for much longer than just those few months before she left.
There are some people who just stay with you and continue to help you grow as a person. Kelsey is one of those people.
Kelsey keeps me grounded, safe, and she holds me accountable. But my favorite thing that Kelsey does is she makes sure I never settle. She reminds me that I need to remember my worth.
Even though we have been long distance best friends for the last 6 years almost she is still my person.
After, going through probably the hardest moments of my life the last 3 years, Kelsey was the one steady person through it all. There are people who always seem to show that they are there for you just when you need it the most.
477,800
There are 477,800 miles to the moon and back.
Kels, I love you to the moon and back.
And a circle is round and has no end, thats how long I want to be your friend.
That is about the only thing I remember from Girl Scouts. (HA)
Can't wait for many more memories, like weddings, babies, and growing old.
