How to Have Your Own Costume Christmas

So my crazy family has this crazy tradition every year called Costume Christmas. Basically, its a game night and everyone is in costume and you get presents. Here is how it works:

1. Everyone thinks of a costume. It can be a group of individual. But it is TOP SECRET. Examples in the past have been Kate Middleton, the cast of Princess Diaries, a Sugar Daddy, crazy cat lady, and Nemo.

2. Everyone shows up in costume to the host's house.

3. Marvel at everyone's costume.

4. The organizer (my dad) tells everyone the order of events of the night.

5. Start games. The games we pay consist of charades, rock-paper-scissors tournament, etc... Basically whatever your favorite family games are.

6. Winner of each game gets a present.

7. Costume Contest.

8. Big Family Dinner.

9. By the end of the night, everyone has a present.

As weird as Costume Christmas is, it is so fun to have all your cousins and grandparents and everyone all together. And the costumes just add a funny touch.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area.
