9 Tips On Being Organized For The Year That Will Set You Up For Success

In This Article:

School has officially started, which means it's time to get organized and stay that way for the semester. Here are a few ways you can get organized:

1. Use a planner

A planner is essential for a college student. School is full of due dates, club meetings, and appointments. Using a planner is one of the most efficient ways to keep track of all the dates. Planners will also allow you to write your to-do's for each day showing you what needs to be accomplished every day.

2. Use Google Calendar

Using an online calendar like Google Calendar is a great way to keep track of times of events. It has a setting to give you a notification before events to help you keep track of time. It also allows you to color code events which are very helpful.

3. Figure out what types of supplies will be helpful for your classes

Take the first few weeks of class to see what supplies will be helpful. If you need to take lots of notes, a notebook will probably be helpful. If you have lots of handouts, a binder may be good to have.

4. Write down all important dates at the beginning of the semester

After the first week of classes, you should take time to sit down and mark down all your due dates in your planner or digital calendar. If you do this early on, all important dates will be marked down from the very beginning of the semester.

5. Plan at the beginning of the week

It is extremely helpful to take time before the week starts to add in all the events that will be going on throughout the week. After you do this, you will see where you have free time that can be used to do homework or hang out with friends.

6. Keep your supplies organized

Find a place to keep your supplies when you are not using them. If your binders and notebooks have a place to be when they are not being used, they will not get lost.

7. Make a to-do list

Writing a to-do list every day is a great way to visually see what tasks need to be done by the end of the day. You can also create multiple mini lists like one for school, another for work, and one for personal stuff.

8. Pack your backpack the night before

Pack your backpack the before you go to bed with the materials you need for class the next day. If you do this, you won't be scrambling the next morning to get everything together when you are in a rush to get to class.

9. Review your schedule the night before

Spend five or so minutes every night before you go to bed to look over your schedule for the upcoming day. It always helps to know what is happening the next day.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
