Everyone gets stressed out it's just a part of life, it is what it is. Sometimes we have no control over how stressed we get but then other times we do. Here're some tips to sit back and try when you're starting to feel overwhelmed with life and you don't think you're going to make it!

1. Take a minute to breathe.

Sit down and inhale and exhale slowly for a minute or two. Catching your breath is important to staying in reality.

2. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed easily.

Make a list of all the things that have been done and put them in order from most important to least.

3. Take a walk and smell the roses, or the coffee.

Always take a moment each week or day depending on how much time you really have and just take a walk, grab some coffee and give it to yourself to calm down for those moments.

4. Buy a new candle and light it as your working.

Candles are the perfect way to de-stress. Especially when they smell really good and put you in a better mood.

5. Don't think too far ahead, think in the moment.

Once your list of most important to least is finished think of the things that can only be done today or at that exact moment. If something on the list can be done after or the next day cross it off.

6. Don't procrastinate so much and it'll lessen your stress levels.

If you have a free hour of time take a moment and check what things you have to do and if you can even just start it in that moment do it, don't wait.

7. Allow your shower of the day help you de-stress.

Play some music that will make you sing in the shower and forget all your worries. Take that time to collect yourself and put yourself back to normal. That's what showers are for, to rejuvenate.

8. Text or call a close friend or family member and ask them to calm you down.

Talking to someone you love can make a huge difference especially once you tell them what's going on they can be the mediator for your brain and tell you what you need to really focus on.

9. Think about what you get to do once all your tasks are completed.

Whether it's just the weekend coming up after or a wedding, a birthday or even just a date with one of your friends or significant other there's always something to look forward to

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
