Syllabus week has just ended, and we have been rewarded for surviving the week with the day off. Sadly, classes will begin again tomorrow and the semester is really about to get going. Here are some ways to stay on top of your school and workload without going insane.
The most important way to stay on top of your work is to avoid getting unorganized. Find a way to keep yourself organized will save you from missed deadlines and cramming sessions. A few ways to keep yourself organized may be trying out bullet journaling, making a list, or buying a good old fashioned student planner.
Take some time to look over your course schedules and combine them with your personal schedule for the rest of the semester. Do you have an exam in your IAH two days after St. Patrick's Day? Write yourself a reminder to study the weekend before St. Patrick's Day.
Another important factor in your success is making time for your friends. Suggest making a collaborative Google Calendar with your best friends; here you can put in all of your classes and work schedules so you can see when everybody will be available. It is also another way to get your schedule down in an easily accessible document.
Last, but most certainly not least, do not forget to take care of yourself. Take some time on the weekends to plan out your weekly meals so you're not just eating one meal a day. Try to schedule your study time in between classes so you can get to bed at a decent time (before 3 am every night). Do whatever you can to get some you time this semester, you will not perform your best if you are not feeling your best.
So, let's take the time to get organized and take care of ourselves this semester. As a farewell, I will leave you with this: there are only 46 days until spring break. Godspeed.
