How to Get A Perfect Summer Bod

I saw an article on the home page of Odyssey titled, " Don't Eat Like Sh*t And 8 Other Ways To Get A Perfect Summer Bod Like Mine," When I read this article, I felt sick to my stomach. It implies that fat women don't deserve to feel beautiful or enjoy summer. In my opinion, this is simply ridiculous. As a fat woman, I have just as much of a right to enjoy the beautiful weather and I will!

Here are some foolproof ways to get the perfect summer bod:

1. Find ways to become confident.

It's not easy, but it's worth it. There are many tips online, that range from looking at yourself in the mirror and saying kind things to re-defining yourself as someone who is worthy because of who they are, rather than what they look like. Women are known for struggling with their body image (although men struggle with it too), but it shouldn't be that way. If you can eventually feel comfortable in your own skin, you just might inspire another person to feel confident in theirs.

2. Find summer clothes that make you feel comfortable and cute.

Clothes shopping can be a daunting and sometimes miserable experience for most people, but finding clothes that make you feel comfortable and cute is vital to summer being awesome. A great bathing suit in your favorite color or pattern can make all the difference, or even just a cute sundress can make the season all the more enjoyable. Find what works for you (also known as what you feel happiest in)

3. Wait for summer to come and enjoy it.

If you feel compelled to go to the gym or eat healthier, by all means, go for it, but make sure that you aren't depriving yourself or harming your own well being. If you don't feel like making life changes, that's okay too. Just get the calendar out and count down the days until the semester is over and summer arrives.

You have every right to enjoy the upcoming season, regardless of your swimsuit size. Everybody is a perfect summer body.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
