How To Get In A Gym Routine

For some, going to the gym can be a fun activity that helps you feel better in both body and mindset. For others, going to the gym can be a chore that just seems to always be getting in the way of other things you would rather be doing. If you're really not interested in going at all, there is no point in forcing yourself. However, if you enjoy going to the gym, but seem to have trouble with keeping up with it and going consistently, then these tips are perfect for you!

1. Make a Schedule

You have probably heard people tell you it 1000 times... but making a schedule really does make a difference. If you have a goal of going 3 times a week, then put it in your planner or phone calendar and block out an hour to go. If you can keep up with this schedule for two to three weeks, you will be starting a good habit that will simply be a part of these blocked out days. It won't seem like a chore anymore!

2. Do workouts that work out for YOU and only you

There are so many different workouts on youtube, articles on Buzzfeed, apps, and people telling you what kind of workout to do. The best thing to do is find a workout that you enjoy, and is making you feel best. Try out some different machines, weights, and exercises and see what makes you feel best!

3. Find a gym friend

Having someone to go and work out with makes getting to the gym a lot easier. If you know someone who enjoys working out, just simply try to find a day and time that can work for both of you. By doing this, you're getting some good company and it will motivate you to not skip out!

4. Keep a gym journal

Try to jot down somewhere the date, time and what workout you did. It will be nice to look back at this in the future and this will also be reminding you to keep up with your schedule!

Hopefully, by following these few easy tips you can start to go to the gym more consistently if that is what you are trying to do. People go to the gym for different reasons, so make sure you're going for yourself, and not what someone else might be going for. Working out is good for the body and mind, and taking care of yourself is extremely important during college when you have many things on your plate that you are trying to balance. Always keep in mind that whatever you really set your mind to and want to do, you can and will achieve!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
