I have always been about healthy hair and #LongHairDontCare. Since my hair doesn't grow quickly (thanks Mom and Dad), I had to learn ways to help my hair grow faster, which, by the way, takes a lot of time and commitment. Below are my six best tips!
1. Massage your hair.
Massaging your scalp upside down
When I researched ways to help hair grow faster, I heard via Pinterest and friends that massaging your scalp while hanging upside down can help your hair grow. How? If you lay down on your bed with your head hanging from the edge and massage your hair, you increase the blood flow to your scalp. Massaging your scalp improves blood flow which can help your hair grow slightly faster. Most people do this every day for about four to five minutes. Some people claim that this method has helped their hair grow 1/2 to 2 inches every other week.
2. Coconut oil treatment
Coconut Oil Treament for Faster Hair Growth & Soft Hair
Getting this treatment done is a perfect opportunity to have some "me time." With this coconut oil treatment, all you gotta do is apply the oil from your scalp down to the roots of your hair, strand by strand. Massage your scalp so it really gets absorbed, which will increase that blood flow to the top of your head. This can take about ten to 20 minutes, but you only need to do it once a week. Yes, I said ONCE a week (: Sometimes people get lazy or forget to do it and get upset when they see no results. if you can't do a daily treatment, this is definitely something to consider. Just keep up with it to make sure there's no hair falling out and your hair will feel softer and healthier as you grow it out.
3. Get your sleep!
Catch seven hours of sleep each day
Though this step can be tricky for some people, this is generally an easy step toward healthier, longer hair. Catching at least seven to eight hours of sleep each day can help your body get the rest it needs in order keep everything flowing and running smoothly. Specific techniques that can be for mainly hair growth is to braid your hair at night before going to bed. Sleeping with braided hair can help your scalp not be itched by your pillow as you're asleep (this also can make your hair crimpy/wavy the next morning).
4. Keep your hair down.
Braided hair
When your hair is always up in a ponytail, it irritates your scalp due to carrying all the weight of your hair. If you wear your hair down more often, it can help your hair grow. As I mentioned, braiding it can also be a great way to keep it down and comfortable without impeding the growing process. Also, using headbands and clips will be a life-saving tip to those who want their hair down but out of their face.
5. Take your vitamins!
The best vitamins that promote hair growth include Biotin pills, vitamins for your hair, nails, and skin, as well as those from specific companies like SugarBearHair. Taking these vitamins does more than just growing your hair faster; it helps your nails, skin and overall body health in general, too.
6. DRINK your water!
Water. Is. The. Key. To. Everything.
This is the hardest habit I had to force myself into doing. Just like plants, humans need water too! And lots of it. It is recommended that we drink at least two liters of water every day.. yes I know, that's a bit more than you're probably used to. If you start with two water bottles a day and go up from there, you can reach that goal. Drinking the right amount of water each day keeps your hair strengthened and healthy. Dehydration WILL stop your hair from growing healthily.
ALL these simple tips will increase your chances of growing long hair while keeping it healthy. It is a routine you'll have to get comfortable with and it does take effort. However, once you see the results kick in slowly but surely, you will be happy with your new, hard-earned hairstyle. Hopefully, these tips work out for those who have been looking for the best ways to grow your hair at a faster pace. The results will be worth it!! Have fun and stay healthy!
