The first step to embracing a healthy lifestyle is to make a conscious effort to bring balance to your diet. This doesn't necessarily mean cutting down on how much food is consumed; but rather, focusing in on what is being consumed. As we've all heard, "you are what you eat". Keeping this saying in mind, meals ought to be crafted to nourish the body and allow it to feel its best.

While attempting to bring balance to one's diet, it is absolutely essential that the body is provided with 3 well-balanced and nutritious meals every day. It is not only what you eat; but, when you eat it that counts! These two variables work together to create a healthy diet and healthy lifestyle.

Many people are often fooled by their bodies calls in the way that they cannot determine if it is hungry for more or simply too full. This is one of the major benefits that comes with having a clear meal schedule. With a regular meal plan, the need to question whether or not one is hungry is lost. The body eventually gets used to its daily routine and will learn to definitely know when it is hungry for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

At first, getting the body to become accustomed to eating such large quantities of food, if it is not used to doing so, at certain times of the day can be very challenging. But, with proper habits, the body can easily become used to filling specific meal quotas at designated times of the day.

To effectively eat 3 well-balanced meals, one should make an attempt to plan out earlier in the day what he or she is going to eat for said 3 meals. This enables one to effectively balance the day's meals. For instance, it is perfectly fine if you plan to indulge in a heavy spaghetti dish for dinner as long as you aim to keep your other meals light. No one is happy eating only salad and vegetables for every meal all the time...just like no one is happy eating only carbs all-day every-day. Yuck! To properly balance one's diet, he or she must start by doing so on the day-to-day basis. Enjoy eating heavy meals every so often; but, avoid developing a pattern out of doing so. Just like everything else in life, our diet thrives on balance and moderation.

As long as you are eating 3 nutritious meals every day, you are on the road to a happier and healthier life. Balancing your diet is the first (and one of the hardest) steps to embracing a healthy lifestyle.

So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
