For the majority of colleges in the United States, spring break is just a month away. I do not know how it creeped up on us so fast, but there is nothing we can do about it now, so put down the chocolate and read this article for complete preparation.
Four weeks out: Make sure the plans are set in stone.
If not, do this as soon as possible. The beach is a pretty popular destination to get trashy (do not actually do this) your first year away from home. Not a freshman? Take a classy ski trip or visit another country. Keep in mind, however, if you are not going to be bundled up under fifty layers of clothing, find out where the campus gym is.
Three weeks out: Cut back on those impromptu dinner trips with your roommate.
You are going to want to save as much cash as you can for any “emergencies.” How to decide what those “emergencies” are is completely up to you. Also, while you are saving some money, you are possibly cutting calories at the same time. Unless you will be wearing a five-inch winter coat in the snow, putting a pause to eating out is a very beneficial decision.
Two weeks out: Create a group shopping list and figure out sleeping arrangements.
These two tasks might seem easier at the time of arrival to your destination, but the last thing anyone will want to do on the first day of spring break is sit down and plan even more. Your group will save time and money by having a potential list for at least breakfast and dinner. Most people probably will not remember to eat lunch… So make sure they have food when they wake up and before they go to bed (It will be greatly appreciated).
One week out: Take a little money out of the spring break fund to buy new swimsuits or a cute ski jacket.
If you have been working hard on that body, why not show it off along with a new steal from Victoria’s Secret (or Target)? Figure out who is driving and split up the gas money. Do not start slacking in your classes with one week to go! Make it through these last seven days before your week of freedom.
Spring break: Remember who you represent!
Whether is be your university, fraternity, sorority, sports team, or any other group on campus, have fun and be safe!
