Being away from all my friends is really affecting me.

I don’t know what to do. I mean I know I have my hometown friends, but if I’m being honest I only have like a handful of trusted friends in my hometown. When you’ve lived in one place for so long you have a lot of time to burn bridges.

I got so used to always having someone around me to talk to. Now my roommates gone, my suitemates are gone, and my best friends from my floor are gone.

The sad part is that when I go back. Things won’t go back to the way they were. I have to start a whole new year and get used to my new environment. I first need to get over my sadness from being separated from my college friend.

Here is how I’m going to do it.

1. I’m going to start working out more to give me more energy for the day.

2. I’ll make a list of things I want to get accomplished over the summer.

3. I’ll actively pursue completing my list.

4. I’ll definitely hit up the pool, get a job, and go to the library during the summer.

I know his sounds like a self-help list, but it can’t be helped. The only way I’ll get over being away from college is by keeping busy.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."
