Now that school is back in, it’s time to have the perfect pregame playlist. A pregame playlist sets your mood for the night. It’s essential that the playlist gets everyone hyped to go out, but not too much so there’s no energy left for the evening. With these songs, your playlist will be perfect.
First, start with a throwback that will get people interested in the playlist. Don't go with an all-time classic, such as "Low" by the Ying Yang twins, because songs like this should be saved for the main event of the night. A pregame playlist needs to leave a little bit left to be desired. Some good songs for this would be: "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dogg and Pharell WIlliams, "Birthday Cake" by Rihanna, or "We R Who We R" by Kesha.
Next, we need to bring it back to current music. This will keep people singing along and the energy up. While you're getting ready to go out, you most likely are dressing up in trendy clothes (if its not a theme party that you'll be attending) and the music will help match the mood. Most people enjoy top hits, or at least tolerate them, so this song can serve as a crowd-pleaser. You can either look up the top iTunes hits or use some of these: "My House" by Flo Rida, "Famous" by Kanye West, or "This Is What You Came For" by Calvin Harris.
Go ahead and flex your love of your favorite artists with the next song. Since you have the aux cord, go ahead and play something that you like. If your still trying to please the crowd, maybe find a song off an album by a popular artist that people like. Sometimes people don't know how good an artist truly is because they only hear the radio singles, so use this opportunity to show off your favorite musicians. Some good songs that aren't on the radio are: "TiO" by Zayn Malik, "Body Heat" by Selena Gomez, and "Don't Threaten Me with a Good Time" by Panic! at the Disco.
While getting ready, sometimes you aren't paying attention to the words of the songs. This is a good opportunity to throw in some EDM/dubstep/electronic music. The rhythmic beats can help you get in the groove of getting ready. Some good options for this are: "Bubble Butt" by Major Lazer, "Lights (Bassnectar remix)" by Ellie Goulding, or "Stay (ft Maty Noyes)" by Kygo.
Of course you are welcome to choose whatever songs you want, but I hope these suggestions can help you out when making a pregame playlist. Just keep repeating these types of songs and you'll be on your way to being the go-to person for having control of the aux cord.
