Modern society has a tendency to create this belief that people who do things for themself are selfish and the worst people to be around - but have you ever thought about the selfish things you could do that actually creates positivity in your life? Believe it or not, some selfish actions are actually beneficial to all of those who surround you, not just you.
1. Have a Me Day
2. Be Proud Of Your Work
If you're anything like myself, being outwardly proud of yourself feels like your bragging in front of others, but don't be so modest! If you get an A on a test you studied weeks for or finally got the job offer you've been hoping for - it's okay to be proud of yourself! You never know who may be watching or hearing your motivation to succeed and is truly inspired by it.
3. Work Out
Taking an hour out of your day to sweat out all the negativity will push you to radiate positivity. Let go of the bad stuff & allow yourself to clear your head in order to accept the positivity in your life.
4. Make Compromises
It's easy to feel like you need to drop everything your doing in order to put someone else in front of your needs. But there's no rule saying you can't compromise with them! If you're trying to go for a walk and your friend wants to chat with you, what do you do? Have them take the walk with you! You'll settle your needs and their needs and who knows, you never know when a chat like this could be one that a friend was really needing.
5. Learn to Say No
Let's face it. No one can possibility take on everything at once, but by saying no to one thing/person, you're creating more time for another person/activity. In the long run, the others will be thankful you spent more time with them instead of spreading yourself too thin.
6. Take A Risk
Taking a risk may seem selfish in the beginning, but truth is that risk may be the one thing you need to lead you to a better chapter of life.
7. Look at Yourself in the Mirror and Say Something Nice
You're not cocky for giving yourself a compliment. It's simply a mood and confidence booster!
8. Sign Up for a Fun/Hobby Workshop
Maybe you'll meet some new people, make some new friendships, and change someone else's life for the better. Not to mention that the people you meet could change your life too.
You may not feel like it now, but trust me - being a little selfish is very well needed.
