Summer has begun, and so has the summer hair season. It seems like everyone is cutting their hair shorter, getting highlights, or embracing the beach wave trend. During the summer, you might be a little busy hanging out with friends and going on vacations with everyone, so here are some easy summer hair styles that you can do without cutting or coloring your hair!

Dutch Braid Pigtails

The Dutch braid pigtails are one of my favorite hair styles. They are pretty easy to do and once you get the hang of it you'll do them all the time. Braiding your hair on your own has its own challenges, but in this video Nicole Guerriero does an excellent job at explaining and showing how to get this braid.

Summer Styles

In this video, Elise Poret shows how to do 10 summer hair styles. She includes braids a lot! Braids are a common part of summer hair styles, and they are so cute. Her ten hairstyles range from super easy and fast to taking a little bit of time and practice.

Messy Bun

In this video, Brianna Fox shows how to do the "perfect messy bun." Everyone's messy bun always looks different, but her bun is pretty cute. She spends a couple minutes messing with it, but it does turn out pretty cute. This is an easy summer hair style because when it is hot you may not want your hair down. The messy bun is my "go to" all year long, even though my mother isn't a fan of it.

Half Bun

This video shows how to do a half bun for short hair. This hair trend has started to pop up everywhere! She does not start the actually hair tutorial until 2:18, if you want to skip forward. This is an easy hair style, and you can dress it up or dress it down. If you have long hair, you can pair the bun with some beach waves.

French Braid

This is my favorite. The classic French braid. It has been around for ages, but still shows up. It is a little difficult to do. This is a do it yourself video, but I personally have not attempted to do the French braid myself. I have very long, thick hair. Shoutout to my mom for French braiding my hair these past 20 years.

Fishtail Braid

The fishtail braid is great. It is super cute, and you can do some much with it. You can braid all of your hair into a fishtail braid or just part of it. It is an easy summer hair style because it will keep your hair out of your face and it won't be so hot!

Rope Twist Headband

This is a great hair style! It looks great and is semi-easy to do. You can do it on your little sister or have your mom help you do it on yourself. It looks so chic, and is very summery.

Each of these videos show how to do summer hair styles. Summer isn't very long, but there are hundreds of different hair styles! Try some out. Find your new favorite go to hair style!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
