Whether you love or hate snow, here is how you can conquer the snow day successfully.

1. Netflix

Sit down, relax and grab some popcorn. You can either binge watch your favorite shows or watch a movie you've been dying to see. Netflix is always a great pastime.

2. Drink hot chocolate or tea.

Presumably it is extremely cold, hot chocolate and tea is the way to go. They both keep you warm and are absolutely delicious (don't forget your marshmallows and whip cream for the hot chocolate).

3. Online (window) shopping.

If you are in the shopping mood and completely snowed in, you have two choices: you can either buy whatever you want or just add your heart's desires to the cart and never purchase anything. I tend to go with the second choice.

4. Cook.

In any case that you have free time, you can make lunch for the following week. It is proactive and you will definitely thank yourself for all the money you save.

5. Play in the snow.

Although snow may be a pain to shovel and inconvenient during commutes, it's a beautiful sight. So go play in the white fluff before it turns to ice or mush.

6. Pictures.

I'm not a huge fan of snow, however, it is beautiful and makes for fantastic pictures.

7. Surprise your dog.

It is always cute seeing dogs play in the snow. If your dog can handle it, why not enjoy the snow with him or her. He or She will be glad you took them outside and most of all, the pictures will be amazing.

8. Get up and dance.

Turn up the radio, get up and dance. That solo dance party may be all you need to cure boredom.

9. Wine and Pizza.

If you are able to get a hold of a few friends, a night filled with pizza and wine is divine.

10. Last resort.

If you've done everything you possibly could to kill time and you still don't know what to do napping is always an option.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
