It can be super easy to get stuck in what feels like an endless cycle of so many bad habits. If you're unsure of where to even begin to get started, try giving a few of these suggestions a shot.
1. Make sooooo many lists.
At least for me, seeing all my goals or tasks (either immediate or long term) written down, makes them seem so much more attainable. Not to mention, being able to check things off a list is incredibly satisfying!
2. Tackle one thing at a time.
One of the biggest reasons I was never successful at accomplishing even half the things I wanted to for the longest time was simply because I was trying to tackle too many things at once. By focusing on just one of the many things on my many lists at a time, I was able to stop feeling so overwhelmed by all the things I wanted to accomplish and improve about myself.
3. Make sure you master one thing before moving on to the next.
Keeping the last piece of advice in mind, it can be difficult to know when it is time to try and tackle another one of your many goals. For me, I wait until I feel that whatever I have changed no longer feels like a chore. In other words, wait until it is second nature/ a part of your everyday routine without requiring much extra effort.
4. Cut out what you need to!!
Be honest with yourself about how much you can handle. It is better to do your best on a select few things than simply get by completing too many things.
5. Surround yourself with people who support your endeavors.
Finding someone to rant to about when things aren't going right can be pivotal for your success. If you don't want to pay for therapy sessions (like myself), the next best thing out there is to turn your trusted friends and family members into your personal councilors.
Talking things out with people can be one of greatest ways to reevaluate how you are really feeling and how things are honestly going.
6. Be patient with yourself.
Understand no one is perfect and you are going to make mistakes. Being upset with yourself every time you mess up is not going to make the process of improving yourself any fun whatsoever. Changing habits is hard, so don't be discouraged when things don't come easily (because if they did, everyone would do it!).
