1) Learn how to say NO

In any situation, whether you do not like the way your nails turned out or you want someone to leave you alone. Gather up your britches and have the courage to say enough is enough.

2) Walk the Walk

Pick your head up when you walk, straighten that posture and walk as if you are strutting Louis Vuitton heels on and as if you are ready to conquer the world.

3) Challenge Yourself

Run that 5K. Wear that outfit you feel insecure in. Take 18 credit hours. Do any task that challenges you for the better.

4) Don't always live life on the safe side

Go somewhere you have never been, go up to the guy or girl you have been trying to talk to for months, heck even go skydiving. You can surprise yourself with the strength you have.

5) Tell EVERYONE like it is

Never be afraid to be honest, there are times to sit back and be silent but there are other times to stand up for yourself. If they crossed the line, they crossed the line. Remember. You are a tough a cookie.

6) Don't Take No for an answer

If someone says you are not good enough to do it, accomplish that task ten times in a row.

7) Dream Big

The more you believe you are capable of everything, the more it actually becomes reality.

8) Treat Yo'self

Give yourself time to treat the royalty inside you. Take a nap, get a facial, whatever floats your boat.

9) Become Who You Want to Be

If you see anything wrong with yourself, dig deep and fix it. Don't wake up in the morning and wish something was different. If it's wanting to be further educated go do it, if it's wanting to learn a new language, whatever the case; get on board because you never know when your last day will be.

10) Try Something New

You know that food everyone is afraid to try? Or roller coaster no one will ride? You do it, because you as a person will grow from this and it will shine outwards that you are a tough cookie that is not afraid to try anything new.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
