I have never been one to stick to a routine, but when it comes to my face, oh I am all over that one. I have never struggled with severe acne, but I do get the occasional break out that drives me CRAZY. I thought it would stop as soon as I turned 18 (haha, jokes!) I was like woo finally out of that “bad skin phase”, nope.

I keep having break outs. Even though I take super good care of my skin, it’s just like a few pimples, nothing more. I love the weeks when my skin looks like porcelain. I mean who doesn’t? When you feel good and look good, don’t you feel like you’re walking around with a tiara on your head?

Actually, now is the best time to take care of your skin in your 20’s, because you know what come’s after 20……30, yikes… scary… #old?

*insert mid-life crisis at 22*

Well, I never had a skincare routine until recently. It goes kind of like this:

(I have never been to a dermatologist, everyone has different skin and it takes a while to find out what works for you!)

1.I use Micellar Water to remove all my makeup.

It's similar to makeup remover but doesn't leave greasy films. It hydrates while cleans.

    2. Wash with Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser

This step is to get any leftover foundation or makeup because you know that stuff can stay on your face for days without you realizing. That it can cause blackheads or clogged pores. I then rinse that off, with a few splashes of water.

    3. Use scrubs and oil-based cleansers

In the morning I use an oil-based cleanser, to really give me that glow. I wash thoroughly. At night I use a scrub, since a day of makeup can really wear on your skin.

    4. Toner is the holy grail

I tone with the Pixie Glow Tonic. OMG, this stuff is a complete holy grail (not an ad), you have probably heard the name many times if you watch beauty vlogs/videos on YouTube. This stuff makes your skin feel and look phenomenal. You just want to stare at yourself for a few minutes and bask in its glory.

    5. Hydrate and cleanse with different face masks

I use a cucumber gel hydrating mask in the morning that you leave on for about 3-5 minutes, then rinse with cool water. It really gets your skin to wake up. At night, 3-4 times a week I use a charcoal mask to rid my skin of any oils, to keep it balanced, to extract more dirt from my pores. Those pesky blackheads, man. Sometimes I do change up the type of mask I use.

    6. Invest in Vitamin E oil

I apply Vitamin E oil all over my face, about a nickel sized amount. You may look like a creepy alien after that. Vitamin E oil helps with acne scars and helps eliminate dark spots.

    7. Make sure you moisturize

In the mornings, I use hydroboost by Neutrogena, which really helps plump my skin and make it look ready for anything, as well as a caffeine based under eye cream, because screw under eye circles and dryness. At night I use coconut oil because I want to wake up with the softest skin possible. Now that winter is here, you want your skin to be plump and moisturized.

I am also a lover of sheet masks, I do those occasionally, mixed in there with my routine. My routine on average takes about 30-45 minutes….. I know that’s a lot of time taken out of your day and morning and you don’t have to have a 7 step program either. I have noticed a complete difference in my skin, as well as my self-confidence.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

    Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

    panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

    1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
