10 Ways To Be Productive

I know during the summer a lot of us have more free time in our hands, so much so that most of us don’t really know what to do with it. Managing time while having fun and just making the most of summer is a top priority to mostly everyone. Here are a few tips on how to be productive over the summer, and just overall have a good summer while still getting things done and just not being lazy. Before you know it summer will be done, so let’s make the most of it while we can.

1. Use An Agenda

Yes, while this is the obvious, it kinda relates to everything else, so I thought why not throw it in as number one. And it doesn’t have to be a agenda, it can be a calendar, a planner, or even your phone, anything to plan out your life really. I promise it helps so much to actually write things down under certain dates. If you have errands to run, or appointments scheduled, write it down so you don’t forget. You might think “Oh. I’m not that busy I don’t need a planner.” But trust me, it keeps your life together. It’s nice and helpful because it allows you to keep track of what you’re doing over the summer.

2. Working Out

Whenever I work out in the morning, I feel so much more productive throughout the day. It helps get the blood flowing for your day ahead. Or, if you would rather do a fitness class, that’s always another option if you don’t wanna get a gym membership. You could even go on a hike or even a walk around your neighborhood first thing in the morning. Find new ways to work out and start your mornings off with that, or get a group of friends together and make it a group date. This will help you start off your day so greatly.

3. But first, coffee.

After you go on your morning workout, stop by a coffeeshop (my personal favorite is Starbucks) and treat yourself. If you’re not a coffee person, get a tea. So it’s kinda like treating yourself after a good workout. There’s something about drinking coffee, or drinking tea, while doing something, you just feel very productive. (Leave me a comment down below if you feel the same way!)

4. Do Your Makeup Every Morning

Sounds kinda silly, but it does help. After you get up, try to do your makeup everyday. Well maybe not everyday because it’s nice to give your skin a break, but 6/7 days. Once you get up, and do your makeup, and get dressed, you feel so good and you feel like you can conquer the day! When you feel good about how you look, you are more likely to want to do things.

5. Try a New Outfit/Look Everyday

This isn’t saying you need to go out shopping because you don’t have enough clothes. The amount of times you think to yourself “Oh I have nothing to wear.”, why not just pull out a random shirt and instead say “How can I style this up today?” and just have fun with it. Try on a new outfit everyday and take pictures of it. It’s fun, it’s a new start to a new day with a new outfit and a new you.

6. Pinterest! Tea!

Whenever you feel super non creative, or if you don’t feel inspired, go on Pinterest. Grab a cup of tea. Sit down. Light a candle. And just go on Pinterest. Look at articles on how to be more productive, or better ways to be more proactive. It’s just really inspiring. Pinterest is a really great creative place, Tumblr is really good to. But I love Pinterest because there’s articles you can read.

7. Don’t Slump Around

I know it’s extremely hard, especially for me, to get out of bed in the morning. I usually get so caught up on social media when suddenly I realize I’ve been laying in bed for two hours doing absolutely nothing. Something that helps me, is to make my bed the minute I get up, that way, I’ll be less tempted to lay in it later again. So make your bed every morning, go on Spotify and listen to your favorite pump up songs, that way, it kinda helps you stay on track and motivates you to start your day.

8. Sunday Plan Sesh

Usually on Sundays it’s a really good time to sit down, put out your planner out in front of you, and ask yourself “What do I wanna do this week?” or “What do I want to accomplish?’, whether it’s work related, or social wise. Just things you wanna do. And this obviously isn’t gonna be step-by-step, but you’ll somewhat get an idea of where you week is going and where you’re headed. Avoid starting your week off super blindsided.

9. Make Brunch Dates

This is so great, especially if you want to catch up with friends you haven’t seen in awhile. If you make it for an earlier time, or if you go for brunch especially, it gets you up, it gets you moving. And after you're done with lunch and you got to see that person, you literally have the whole rest of the day. So you can go run errands or you can go back home, or work out, hang out with your family, walk your dog, like you just have so much more free time. You’re already up and going, so why not keep going right?

10. Brainstorm Sesh

Sit down, drink your coffee, have your candle lit up. Get some music going. (Music is a great way to be productive too. Spotify playlists are awesome too. They’re pre made and they have different genres) Brainstorm things you’re passionate about, or maybe things you want to accomplish the upcoming school year, and HOW you will accomplish your goal. Just sit down and write down your goals for life, or for summer, or for pretty much whatever you want. It’s so beneficial to you.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
