The 2019-2020 school year is coming in hot, and it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. With a bunch of due dates thrown at you, club meetings starting and balancing your out of school life, you might feel like there isn't enough time. But fear not, I have 5 super easy steps to put you on the right track.
Organize your syllabus dates
Your classes are probably (hopefully) your top priority. I recommend taking all of your syllabus' and writing down every due date for the most recent month. In our case, September. I suggest having an actual physical copy, it's tangible proof that you're on track or need to get on track. This will help you start to make a game plan without feeling the stress of the whole semester. Additionally, you should definitely color code each of your classes and use the same color consistently either in your planner, calendar or notebook. Having one cohesive place for all your dates helps you to feel like you aren't scrambling through a bunch of different packets and course calendars.
Find a study spot
Having a space outside of your dorm is so important! It gets you out and about to have a sort of peace of mind when doing work and it minimizes personal distractions. A local cafe, library or park are all great options! A personal place to study is helpful when you want to work really hard and have a solid focus. This will keep you on track with your school work.
Try to plan your weekly schedule
assets.rbl.msThere's that football game on Saturday and you have four work shifts this week, oh and also two exams and so much more. It can be a lot to remember everything and you don't want to fail an assignment simply because you forgot. If at the beginning of every week, you had a general plan of what you needed to do each day, you can encourage yourself to be more successful. This is the best way to avoid feeling like time is running out.
Keep your spaces clean
PinterestYour outside spaces normally reflect your internal space. Make sure you're staying on top of a clean room, organized laptop files, neat backpack and any other space you have. Not only will you feel great about the cleanliness, but it'll also be so much easier to find what you're looking for and to focus on what needs to get done.
