Confidence: Something many people want, but few people have. Whether it be school, work or out with friends, we all wish we could have an extra bit of confidence. I have been there and I know many people around me have. So to everyone that is looking to learn ways to build confidence, keep reading. You will be sure to learn how to take your confidence to the next level.
Dress in what you want
The clothing you wear can make a world of a difference in how you carry yourself. Whether you’re going to class, work, the gym or the store, what you wear influences the way you feel. Wear something that you are comfortable in and you will automatically appear more confident.
Take a deep breath
Life gets overwhelming. There will be times when all you want to do is curl up into a ball and hope you become invisible, trust me, we’ve all been there. When this happens, take five deep breaths and count to ten in your head. Repeat this however many times needed. This will calm you down and give you the burst of confidence you need.
Fake it until you make it
Let’s face it, sometimes you have ABSOLUTELY no idea what you’re doing. In that case, pretend that you know EXACTLY what you’re doing. You most likely have enough common knowledge to fool people into thinking that you are entirely confident performing whatever task you have been assigned. Something as simple as standing tall and walking with confidence can change the way you appear to others.
Expect greatness
The mindset that you have when entering a scary or new situation has a huge impact on the outcome. Go into every situation expecting an amazing outcome; tell yourself that you will rock that interview, ace that test, or get that cute guy’s number. If you start off with a positive mindset you will (without even realizing it) work even harder to make sure that positive outcome happens.
Ask for help
You are not expected to know everything. In fact, there is not a single person who does know everything. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it is actually the opposite. It is a sign of confidence. By asking for help, you show that you are confident enough to point out what you don’t know in order to gain the knowledge or skills that you need.
Practice practice practice
Self-confidence is not something that happens overnight, it takes time. Practice the tips that are listed above and soon enough you will be ruling the world.
Next time you feel like your confidence needs a boost, try one (or all) of these tips and you are guaranteed to amaze others.
