College can be a really exciting time with all of the new changes that are going on in life. New friends, new school, moving away from home, and getting to be an adult are some of the exciting things that are happening. However, there are some confusing aspects such as how to cook by yourself, or choosing what major you're going to study. Choosing a major can be stressful because it's basically what you're going to study for the majority of your college life. But, you can switch majors as many times as you want and find a major that you like. Because choosing your major is such a big deal in our society today, you should choose your major based on what you are passionate about.

I was an English major at the beginning of last semester, but I switched to Business to further follow my passion for Photography. All the paper writing I had to do for my English class was stressing me out and I hated it. After my first semester of my Freshman year, my parents talked to me about switching to a Business major and my first thought was, “Woah I can’t do that, I am so bad at math.” Then my parents talked to me about how my passion for Photography could be used to shape my dream career of opening my own Photography studio with a Business degree. That really swayed me into making the transition of one major to another. However, I feel like Business classes for me wouldn’t be fun so I am possibly thinking about switching majors but I would still follow my passion of Photography and a few other passions I have as well.

One of the reasons I am choosing to follow my passion instead of a major that would make me filthy rich is because I want to be

happy and I believe that's what every College student should strive for when choosing a major. My passions include wanting to travel and help others and take pictures so I am hoping that a major I am considering helps me to fit all of those passions in. My advice for people that are considering a major/wanting to switch a major is to follow your passion. Go with your passion, and you will have a major that while it may not be the most fun or could be super fun, it will get you where you want to be. If your passion is discovering new cells or designing clothes, follow that passion with a major that will set you on the road to happiness. I may be potentially switching majors, but I know that following my passion is something I need to do. It will be worth it in the end. The Princeton Review has some good tips on choosing a major here.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
