If you're anything like me, then Christmastime basically started the day after Halloween. However, if you're a normal person that waits until after Thanksgiving to start thinking about Christmas, then (finally) t'is the season. Turkey Day is over and, quite frankly, it's time for you to step up your Christmas game. Here are some tips and tricks to help you get on the same level as all of us Christmas fanatics this holiday season (warning: heavy sarcasm ahead).

1. Christmas sweaters everyday

If you don't have twelve Christmas sweaters for every day of Christmas, then you honestly need to get it together.

2. Peppermint EVERYTHING

I'm not just talking candy canes or peppermint mochas, I mean peppermint patterned clothing, peppermint accessories, peppermint-colored makeup and a container of crushed peppermint to use on everything you eat.

3. Christmas tunes

You are only allowed to listen to Christmas music during the holiday season. The Christmas music station is the one radio station your car should know and you better have Pentatonix on repeat while you're singing in the shower.

4. Classic Christmas movies

Let's be real, Netflix's collection of Christmas movies is just sad. So, what you need to do is drive to your nearest Target and buy out their classic Christmas movie selection. Because what is Christmas without "A Christmas Story" or "Elf"?

5. Cheesy made-for-TV Christmas movies

The movies don't stop with your blu-rays or DVDs, oh no, you also need to record every single Christmas movie that shows up on your TV guide, even if you've seen it five times already. The "25 Days of Christmas" marathon on Freeform is your life for the next month and if Lifetime isn't lighting up your recording schedule, then you're not doing it right.

6. Bells on bells on bells

If I can't hear Christmas bells ringing every time you move, then you seriously need to up your Christmas bell fashion game.

7. Gift wrap on level ten

Your gifts should look professionally wrapped. You're going to need at least twenty different kinds of gift wrap, all with different Christmas patterns. Every gift needs a bow on top, no exceptions. I don't care if it's wasteful, it's necessary.

8. Christmas cookies

You're going to need beautiful and delicious cookies of every look and flavor for your month-long holiday celebrations. Don't worry about the weight you're gaining, that's what New Year's resolutions are for.

9. Hot Chocolate

An everyday staple and one of the most important December food groups.

10. Caroling

Anytime, anywhere, I better hear your Christmas spirit ringing loud and clear.

11. Christmas decorations

This is the most important part of Christmas by far. They should be able to see your Christmas lights from space. You're also going to need Christmas scented candles everywhere and absolutely everything in your house had better be holiday-themed.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
