How To Avoid Homework At All Costs

With Thanksgiving break just around the corner, there's not much on my mind other than apple pie and being at home with my family. I feel like a lot of people are in this same slump where they've run out of energy to do anything and everything school related. Finals are way far out on the horizon. Morale is low. Energy is almost nonexistent. That being said, there are plenty of ways to spend your time besides doing homework or studying.

1. Go for run.

OK, OK, this might be a little aggressive for some, but even a brisk walk could work. Just get outside and enjoy the fresh fall air.

2. Bake something.

Before baking though, spend some time on Pinterest searching for the most exotic type of chocolate chip cookie you can find. Then go to the grocery store and take your time there before actually starting the baking process. And maybe, just maybe, you can eat your freshly baked good while doing a little homework.

3. Watch some Netflix.

One of my favorite things to do is rewarding myself with an episode of my favorite shows on Netflix. This can be anything from One Tree Hill to Bob's Burgers (personally I opt for the 43 minute episodes because it means less time studying).

4. Shop online.

Now is a great time to peruse all 51,826 articles of clothing online at Forever 21.

5. Make a Christmas list.

If you don't feel like spending money of your own, create a Christmas list that you can send to your mom, dad, grandma and anyone else you can think of. You can easily spend a solid afternoon on this task alone, and the sky's the limit.

6. Take a Buzzfeed quiz.

There are so many things you may not even know about yourself until you take those fun quizzes on Buzzfeed. Which Jonas brother is your spirit animal? What type of Starbucks drink are you based off your Zodiac sign? How old are you according to your favorite type of cheese?

7. Write an Odyssey article.

Yes actually while I'm writing this I should really be working on my English presentation, studying for a Spanish test and reading for my law class.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
