8 Fool-Proof Ways To Ask Your Parents For Money

In This Article:

You should never feel ashamed about asking your parents for money. Yes, times are tough and you're balling on a budget. Your parents promised to care for you from the moment they agreed to be your parents.

It can be tricky trying to devise a way to ask your parents for money without sounding too desperate or needy. Much like approaching a sleeping bear, there are a few ways to ask your parents for money.

These are the most practical and most fool-proof ways to ask for money. I've tried them all and they have all worked every time worked sometimes.

Sing the words to "Baby Girl" by Sugarland.

"Dear mom and dad, please send money. I'm so broke that it ain't funny," is a great way to tell your parents in the most straight-forward way that you are, in fact, broke, and it ain't funny.

Send them a cute Bitmoji version of yourself asking for money.

Offer to cook them dinner if they give you money to buy the ingredients.

Cry hysterically until they give you money.

Tell them that all the "cool" and "hip" parents are giving their kids money.

Threaten to join the circus if they don't send you money.

Write a strongly worded letter about your financial needs.

Write a listicle about it.

Like I'm doing here, right now. Hi mom and dad. Please send money.
