A little seed flew through the cosmos and stars— a white little seed.
She kept flying and landing on moons and planets and stars and rockets, just trying to find a home and fill the empty void in her heart.
No one, however, allowed the seed to stay.
"You're not like the moon rocks that stay here," the moon said. "Please leave."
"You don't shine bright enough," the stars said. "Please leave."
"You aren't a planet— you can't stay in this galaxy," the planets said. "You don't count."
"You don't fly fast enough to join us," the rockets said. "You need to go and find a better home."
Little Seed would leave each space family, wondering where her home could possibly be.
"I can't be alone, can I?" the seed asked. "Is that really my destiny?"
The seed suddenly bumped into one star that shone a bit dimly, crying to himself.
"What's wrong, star?" the seed asked.
"I am losing my shine and I don't know if the stars will let me be in the constellations anymore," the star said, sniffling.
The seed hugged the star, even though she fully remembered that this star, among others, told her that she could never be in her family.
The tears of the star landed on the little seed and the little seed suddenly grew roots.
"You are beautiful, star. No matter how you shine," the seed said.
The star suddenly shone so bright and turned into the brightest star in space— the Sun. A large ball of fire emerged right before the little seed and little seed watched, amazed.
"Little seed, you saved me! Look at me! I'm shining bright and beautiful," the Sun said. "What can I possibly do to repay you?"
Little seed thought for a little and decided she knew what wish she wanted to be granted.
"I want a home, Sun," she said.
The Sun then shone on the little seed and the roots grew larger and larger until little seed sprouted into lands full of trees and flowers and plants.
The Sun shone brightly on the seed and allowed life to be born, life of animals, humans, and crops that formed families all on their own.
Little Seed cried to herself, so happy to see all sorts of families— all different kids— form on the land she herself became.
Her tears of happiness pooled together in different bodies of water, such as ponds, lakes, oceans, rivers…waterfalls.
Life flourished on Little Seed and she became a planet.
She orbited the Sun, along with other planets that once rejected her.
Sun heard that the other planets were mean to Little Seed, and that the moon had rejected her too.
As payment, the Sun did not allow any other life to form on the other planets and made Moon belong to Little Seed.
Little Seed was so grateful for the families that inhabited her lands that she allowed them to stay forever and allowed them to tear apart her grassy lands and build roads so they can travel better.
She allowed them to go and conquer the moon that used to just be hers.
She allowed them to change her name to what made sense to them: Earth.
She allowed the humans to cut apart her plants and her animals because she knew how lucky she was to have them.
She allowed them to deplete her resources and Ozone layer.
She allowed them to make their mistakes because she wanted to accept them the way no one accepted her.
There it was… her kindness, her bravery and her forgiveness that allowed this whole earth and land to flourish. She was Little Seed and she knew what family was worth.
Little Seed looks at the sun every day and thanks her for the family she has.
"You don't have the family," the Sun responds every time. "You are the family, Little Seed."
