Whether they consider it a science or craft, many people use astrology as a daily guide. In addition to lucky numbers and colors, followers believe that tracking their horoscopes can also reveal one’s compatibility and personality. The signs can even show people how they might react to different situations. For students, being able to predict these responses in scholastic environments could also foretell natural study routines.

Listed in astrological order are the twelve zodiac signs and most likely academic habits according to each sign’s personality, weaknesses, and strengths.

1. Aries (March 21-April 19)

As the first sign in the zodiac, others can expect any Aries to also be the first to get school assignments done. However, if an Aries is not slightly interested in the work, his or her determination is basically non-existent despite the impatience to finish. Passion means everything to this fire sign, and an Aries will put no value in something that leaves us cold. Fortunately, thanks to Arian stubbornness and rationale, we eventually blaze through the boredom to finish on top.

2. Taurus (April 20-May 20)

If anything, this earth sign knows how to stay grounded, especially in times of crisis. For students, this translates into essay and exam weeks. Have a research paper due on anything from anthropology to statistics? For a Taurus, no assignment is too challenging or uninteresting to complete. This bull is always dependable and capable of seeing the value in any prompt or project, which helps this sign excel in majors like business and economics. The practical nature of a Taurus also leads this sign to be one of the most responsible and stable of the entire zodiac.

3. Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Since this sign includes two distinct sides, Gemini students are usually very versatile and capable of tackling diverse assignments without any hesitance or trouble. This air sign is famous for its curiosity and intellect, which makes people born under this sign excellent teachers and lifelong scholars. However, the desire to learn everything possible can make a Gemini exceedingly restless. For this student, the best solution is to focus on just one assignment at a time.

4. Cancer (June 21-July 22)

This water sign cannot help but pour all of his or her emotions into every assignment, especially the ones that allow for personal reflection. Because of a Cancer’s imaginative nature, this student would most flourish in a major that encourages creativity. Cancers balance determination to succeed and general contentment, which makes their ambitions dependent upon their moods. However, this persistence can lead any Cancer student to accomplish his or her goals.

5. Leo (July 23-August 22)

This sign combines creativity and practicality to succeed in almost any major and assignment. Leos also work well in group projects, both as leaders and team members, because of their charismatic and loyal natures. However, the occasional burst of over-confidence might cause this fire sign to ignore important issues and feedback. Instead of saving papers for later, this student needs to remember the perseverance that made him or her so successful in the first place.

6. Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Another reliable earth sign, Virgo is synonymous with analytical. This student would easily excel in any major relating to science because a Virgo values even the smallest detail. This sign is also extremely methodical and organized, which is useful outside of school as well. However, a Virgo is quick to sacrifice one’s social life for best academic results and often becomes too critical of his or her own efforts.

7. Libra (September 23-October 22)

This air sign feels most comfortable working in study groups and on team projects. Unlike others, a Libra is naturally cooperative and enjoys combining multiple ideas and perspectives for a unique outcome. Even though they are fair and diplomatic individuals, Libras should probably not be team leaders because they struggle to choose sides. However, their intellects and inspiration make them coveted and beneficial members in any group.

8. Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Even though this water sign is also ruled by emotions, a Scorpio can be a great leader in any class. No matter the assignment, this dedicated sign will let neither emotions nor other people limit his or her progress. A Scorpio student most often combines resourcefulness with assertiveness. Scorpios are also great at discovering new information through research, which makes them masters at navigating the local library database.

9. Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

This sign’s curiosity is limitless and stretches across every major and subject. A Sagittarius will always find something new and interesting to discover about any assignment. However, with so much competition out there, it is hard for one prompt to keep a Sagittarius’s attention. This student needs ample allowance for expression, even in the most rigidly structured classroom. Only when a Scorpio has this scholastic freedom can he or she shine.

10. Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Like the others, this earth sign excels in maintaining responsibility. Capricorns can be overly serious and stubborn leaders, but their focuses on practicality aid the entire group. This independent sign is also more than capable of working alone because of its strong work ethic and sense of discipline. Teachers and other students can always expect this student to do his or her best work because Capricorns will accept nothing less.

11. Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

An Aquarius is the best mediator in any group because this sign appreciates multiple sides to any debate, which is also useful for argumentative essays. As another inquisitive and intellectual air sign, Aquarians thrive in team and classroom settings that encourage open discussion. An Aquarius student might lack immediate motivation, but he or she probably already has the next several years planned out and anticipates each step on the path to scholastic success.

12. Pisces (February 19-March 20)

This water sign is one of the wisest and most intuitive of the zodiac. Every assignment or subject offers something new to explore or learn for this flexible scholar. A Pisces student can easily sneak a little creativity into standard assignments and sees artistic potential in every project, which appeals to his or her desire for personal expression. This sign would likely be the most compassionate in any group and would most encourage the individual talents of other members.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
