Too often, we find ourselves wishing we were somewhere other than where we are now.

Whether it be working long, tiring days, struggling through school or just enduring the overall fatigue of life, I'm pretty sure anyone can relate to that "I wish it were the weekend" feeling. It can be easy to fall into the trap of counting down the days until Friday, spending two days doing what you love and going to sleep on Sunday to start the whole process over again, but what kind of life is it when you're only living two out of seven days?

It's time to start treating every day like the weekend; life is too short to waste over half of it wishing you were somewhere else. Here's how to stop living just for the weekend:

1. Make time for what you love

School, work and other responsibilities should always come first, but that doesn't mean you can't find time for the things you love to do. Even if its just a quick dinner spent with friends, playing on an IM sports team or reading a few chapters of a new book, adding little things to look forward to throughout the week makes a big difference. Each week could become less of a chore, and you might end up realizing that it's okay to have some fun on the weekdays too.

2. Change things up

Sometimes it can feel like you're living the same day over and over again, but where's the fun in that? Try to change up your days a little; cook something new and interesting, visit a coffee shop you've never been to before or maybe just find a new TV show to obsess over. You'd be surprised how refreshing these small changes can be. Stop waiting for the weekend to step out of your comfort zone, and start experiencing things seven days a week.

3. Take advantage of your free time

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a little free time, but when you do, it's important to make it count. It can often be easy to spend hours mindlessly scrolling through social media or watching TV, but why waste it? There are so many fun things to try, and they'll most likely beat watching TV by a landslide. With that being said, there's also no shame in some hardcore relaxation if that's what you like to do. It's all about making your weekdays more enjoyable, that way you don't have to wait for the weekend.

It's time to stop wishing it were Friday or Saturday to have a life that excites you. Stop counting down the days and start making them count!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
