The best decision I ever made.

Thank you, Greek life for giving me an opportunity of a lifetime.

As anyone might want know, being in a sorority changed my life in a way I thought was never possible before.

Some may think being part of a sorority buys you friends, but that’s just the stigma that exists around it. It did quite just the opposite for me. I never thought it could bring me happiness, confidence, and form long-lasting friendships and bonds. In fact, it brought me various relationships I would cherish forever and always be grateful for. Personally, being in a sorority allowed me to open up to new friends I can call my “sisters,” and a support system full of love and kindness.

I know for a fact that when I’m having a bad day, got a bad grade, or went through a bad breakup I’m able to go to my sisters for help. As a result, they’re able to give me advice on what’s best do, thus I knew I would never be alone.

Namely, becoming a sorority girl I was able to build myself in a place where I could feel accepted and not be judged entirely by looks. So this enabled my love for my sorority even more; knowing it was more than just looks and about being real with each other.

At the beginning of my sophomore year I finally decided to go out for fall recruitment. In my previous year while at school; I saw my friends who joined Greek life say it was the best decision of their life. So, in that given moment – I knew it was something I wanted to do. In summary, going out for recruitment I soon realized my life was going to change, but for the better. When I found out who my sorority was going to be, it instantly became the best day of my life.

Suddenly I knew that this was going to be my place where I could belong.

Being in a sorority gave me a home away from home and another family I could always rely on. It also gave me a sisterhood that allowed me to grow as a person and better myself. Also, by joining a sorority it provided me with many opportunities doing events and activities by getting closer with my sisters. For this reason, I can honestly say the times I spent with my sisters at homecoming, Greek Sing, Greek Olympics, and formal were the most memorable times of my life that I’ll forever cherish.

Personally, being a member of a sorority has introduced to some amazing people and given me my housemates, best friends and of course my big. My big has become a big part of my life, and without her, I wouldn’t know what to do; so that I’m thankful for. She is someone so genuine, kind, amazing and perfect in my life. She is my go-to person and someone that is willing to do anything for me when I needed a helping hand or favor. I knew that if I wanted to go somewhere like shopping, or get a bite to eat I’d have people like my sisters alongside me.

So again I say, if I never went Greek I wouldn’t be where I am today nevertheless how different my life would’ve turned out. Even though sorority might not be the same for everyone, it's something that is close to my heart and nothing I would change. But being apart of a great sisterhood gave me more than just “buying friends,” but a sense of being a part of something so great I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

To sum up, my big and my little, my housemates, my best friends; I wouldn’t have been introduced to these lovely people if I didn’t choose the sorority life. Needless to say, being a part of a sorority helped me gain responsibility, countless friendships, and yeah, more chances of having nights out with the people I love. Since being in a sorority may sound daunting, it's something all girls should consider – like who knows it may surprise you and be something you come to like.

After all, going out for a sorority not only gave me a hobby to keep busy but free clothes; and hey, how can one turn down anything free since were all running on tight budgets. In any case, there’s more to what people believe sororities are actually like. Now we must stand together and prove those wrong because there is much more to the social norm how sororities are just buying friends. But in reality, it is an experience like no other and will only make your college days better. So join now; what are you waiting for?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
