Oh, the holidays. Or more specifically, oh, Thanksgiving.
That incredible time when family comes together to celebrate how thankful they are for one another and to share the biggest meal you have literally ever seen in your life.
This is also the time when you get bombarded by family members you don't see often, and their (seemingly) innocent questions about your personal life. For example, questions about your future, your love life and your GPA.
This is also the time when the answers to said questions makes you want to run for the hills or scream and fall to the floor like the 6-year-old you are on the inside.
I am here to help provide you with responses to these questions and survive the 24 hours that are Thanksgiving Day.
1. "So how many boyfriends do you have now?"
Because is there a more accurate response?
2. "Well, what happened to *insert name here*? We loved *insert name here*!"
Because how am I supposed to respond to this?
3. "How is school going???"
Because, once again, is there a more accurate answer?
4. "What are you going to do after you graduate?"
Because, I don't know, OK?!
5. "But really, I can't believe a girl as pretty as you doesn't have a boyfriend."
Because maybe I enjoy my freedom...
6. "What do you like to do for fun?"
Because what's more fun than staying home, eating and writing? Amirite?
*These are all metaphorical questions and not based in any way on actual members of my family.
