If you like your music mixed with rock and rap, you would probably like Linkin Park. The very people that give the best attention to Linkin Park might be the type of people that shout out their insecurities. We live in some dark, emo days. In other days, we live in redemption after hearing a few songs. Like most alternative bands, Linkin Park does an outstanding job with complex lyrics and styles. Ever since they were at their growing peak of success in the early 2000's, I fell in love with more alternative rock music at the same time. I can explain more on how some lyrics complete my emotional soundtrack.
"Until It Breaks" has been one of their latest songs, and it explores more about the music's mixture. All three verses have rapping lyrics reflecting on how creativity is born and how it's driven. In my case, I also possess the hunger of a lion to create the bright side of everything when given the strength of a sun. When experiencing writer's block, you could make your own list of metaphors. Whether it's more gentle or hostile feelings, I would just write down anywhere on paper. Then, I can decide whether to share it or not.
For most of us, fear drives anger. After hearing the song "Crawling," it astonished me to learn about what trauma feels like. Part of the chorus shouts, "These wounds will never heal." On my worst days, I seek relief to my loved ones by confessing how I'm feeling at the very moment rather than shutting myself down. To avoid confusion, I ask questions. The sooner you learn is the least likely to be afraid.
Back in high school, I struggled keeping friends close. Summer camp helped me start over, even though they lasted for a week each of my three summers. In the sixth grade, the bullying could've been worse if I didn't have guts to ask out my first crush or quit band class to focus more on sports. It was all because I would not be ignored by my peers. While social media continues to expand for the next generations, it's becoming more evident that time hasn't healed on bullying and cyberbullying. I think of "Faint" as messaging song for victimized teenagers to seek help from parents and teachers. In the end, time will heal through open-mindedness.
In conclusion, songs expressing anger and other strong emotions help let go of your regrets. My favorite Linkin Park song has always been "What I've Done." I can remember first hearing it from the movie, "Transformers," back in 2007. It came at the best timing for me when starting going to church and breaking up with my first girlfriend. She somehow had to "put to rest what (she) thought of me." Eventually, my hands of uncertainty held together in prayer. As long as Linkin Park remains in my playlist, I will never be too emotional drained on whatever life throws at me.
