There are a wide variation of jobs in the medical field, whether you're a Nurse, Doctor, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), CNA, Dentist, Pharmacist, and the list goes on. With any job in the medical field you're dedicating your life to help and take care of others, and this changes your life forever, but we can all agree that we wouldn't change our jobs for anything else. The well being of others is sometimes put ahead of your own wants and needs.

It truly takes a special type of person to work in the medical field, there is so much illness, death, and sadness around a lot of the time that its hard. You have to be able to ignore your feelings, and try to encourage them everything is going to be okay. Strength and a great support system make working in the medical field or a high demanding job much easier. There will be good days and there will be bad days.

You get to know certain people, we listen to their stories about family, friends, what they're doing, and we look forward to seeing them, probably more than they look forward to seeing us. You have connections with people you don't even know outside of work, and your heart actually hurts if something happens to this person. These small connections keep you grounded at work but also make you appreciate what you have.

Many young people don't enjoy elders, or respect them, though you love them to pieces. They're always cracking jokes, and they're so kind to you (most of the time) but they're some of the sweetest people you've met. Elderly people are some of the most wise people that you can meet. The best way to learn about life is form them. Most of the time their knowledge goes underappreciated.

Having them tell you that their favorite place is your work is the best feeling.

You start to appreciate life so much more than you did before, and it feels so great to be making a difference, there are a lot more hard days than easy ones, but you love what you do, and you wouldn't change working in this field for the world. You see how illnesses can tear people apart, how sudden a heart attack can happen and a family can lose a brother, mother, or grandfather so quickly, and you hold you family a little tighter. You realize there is more to life than good grades, money, expensive things, and you truly start to realize how important life is, and

We all have special people we've met, and special stories we share with others that will stay with us forever.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
